Kendra had a blast, she was sitting watching the cars come down the road and hoping it was me...but...well, it wasn't as I had to turn around because, I forgot the camera! I couldn't possibly have shown up without it...
So, I walked into the hall and all the campers were singing and the next thing I know Kendra was throwing herself in my arms..."Mommy!" As she rambled I could barely hear what she was saying she was sooo excited. She went back to her cabin mates and counselor and didn't come back until it was all over.
We went to get her things out of the cabin and bought a "Experience Camp Squeah" t-shirt. AS we drove out she told me how she missed home but then went on to tell stories of all the good times. Counselor Phobia, rec, Chapel in the Sky, F.O.B. (flat on bunk) where she relaxed and rested.
What fun she can't wait until next year. In her journal she wrote that bible study was so fun. I agree.

Yes, I cried.
Well, yes, I did cry but not until I was driving away and saw Kendra standing outside of her cabin waving to me. She very quickly started to climb a tree outside the cabin, I am sure God had her do this so I knew she was JUST FINE. I do know this and I am well aware that she will be having a blast.
Mallory was signing her in and as we walked to the table she was greeted with smiles and her name. How great that was! Then down to talk to Britt. as I did not clarify Peanut Butter, thinking everyone knows what PB is....silly me.
SO we checked in, got Kendra's bag, pillow and sleeping bag out of the van, and walked past all of the cabins down to find her cabin. We were greeted with a smile, a puppy and Disney music....what FUN!
Of course mommy had to PEE, you know the 10 minute drive was sooo long...lol. So Kendra came with me, gave me a hug and said that she loved me, would miss me, but not really, she promised she would not FORGET me. Thank-you for that one, and before I know it it will be time for her to come home. Just as easy as that.
Well, yes, I will be working on myself this week, and really looking forward to hearing all about her mini-week and reading her journal with her. Can't wait to hear about the "Chapel in the Sky".
So I will paint, go through house stuff, and wash a few carpets, all while I pray that I have as good a week that she will have. My baby is no longer a baby and is now growing up. Her first camp, don't worry next year I will cry because it is her 1ST full week camp...I guess she will always be growing and there will always be something new that God lays before us to help us grow closer to him. Thank-you Lord for all the blessing upon us.

It is finally here. Kendra's first day of CAMP!
Well, we have been soooo excited waiting for this day to come. The bags have been packed for two days and the sleeping bag has been wrapped and unwrapped just to be wrapped again atleast 20 times.
I have cried and Kendra has been counting down the days and now hours. She has told me that it is okay, she will miss me also, but be home soon. "Honey, I am crying because you are getting so big. You are going to your first over night camp. Same one that mommy went to when I was little."
God blessed me so much with Kendra, I just am so thankful.
Well, we are just running out the door to go out and have a picnic supper, then registration.
I will let you all know on Friday how the week went.
God Bless all.

It's been a while!
Well, it has been quite a summer. We have spent a week at Christina Lake with friends from all over the lower mainland. It was a blast and all the kids got along (mostly)
From there we came back and spent some time in the lower mainland. I think we have been to the Vancouver Aquarium 4 times since April.
We spent a day down in Stanley Park, went to Gas town for dinner, and finally we headed off to "Hillary Duff". FUN! FUN! FUN! Kendra and I managed to trade our seats so that we could sit beside our friends...6 of us having fun. It was a highlight of the summer.
Kendra, I think, wants Sunday School to start even more so then regular school. We are so looking forward to September for that reason.
My faith has been tempted and I am so glad that I was able to stand and talk to some people that I respect so much from church. One said to me, " As hard as it is we have to surrender even when we want to reach out on our own." This is so true but I think one of the hardest things for me to do. I always feel like I should be the "protector" not the "protected" Another just listened and offered their support through prayer and giving me their phoned number to always call if I need to.
What a wonderful thing to belong to a hugs family that will always listen, share, or just be there. It is nice to just be you and know you are not being judged.
Well, we must get ready for church, I also need to save the cats...Kendra is dressing them up in her Tolly Doll clothes. Have a Great Day!
